I saw this picture on my facebook today.  It certainly hit a chord for me and I have a feeling it will for some of you as well.  Not too long ago I posted my feelings and opinions about Victim Blaming and how women are may fear men; this woman and her statement are right up the alley of

I can't express how worthy this is of a reblog, so here....

Holla, sista!

I saw this the other day and found it to be very powerful.

This part moved me to tears: “That you feel no solidarity with the women that have no voice, no power, no safety, no light, no freedom to drive a car or walk down the street by themselves at night; no right to protect their own children, maybe you’re not ready.”

Let’s Get Physical

If you read no other blog post today, you must read this: Let’s Get Physical. I’m not kidding.

Open Letter: Female GOP Supporters

NaNoWriNO Day 4

Topic: Open letter to the GOP

Female GOP Supporters:

As you know, elections are right around the corner, and propaganda information from both parties has been spreading like wildfire for the past several months. As we close in on November 6th, I can't help but think about those of you ladies who will be going to the polls and placing a mark next to Romney's name.

Hi Women!

Whas up, yo?

Regarding the upcoming election in the U.S., Speaker7 says it better than I ever could (because she's brilliant). Plus, her post falls in line with what I've been writing/posting in the last several days. Now, go read it.

"Bonnie and Clyde '97"

Reblogged from myelectronicjukebox:

This might seem like a strange song to post in response to Meizac's posts here, here, and here.  But bear with me a moment.  Meizac, who is strong and smart and has two of the most beautiful children ever, got me thinking today.  About how quickly a woman can go from being safe and happy to in danger.

I'm not sure I've ever had someone write a blog post because of something I wrote. Purplemary nails it when she talks about "how quickly a woman can go from being safe and happy to in danger." I've felt that too many times, and I know I'm not alone. The song that accompanies this blog post is terrifying. It's the most terrifying song I've ever heard. I'm sure that my heart stopped beating for 5 minutes and 46 seconds, and I know I stopped breathing. Absolutely read the post, but be careful about listening to the song.
